Our fourth-year Au.D. externship program offers a dynamic, comprehensive experience designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and exceptional clinical practice. We provide a supportive, hands-on environment where you can refine your skills and launch your career with confidence.
How to Apply
A Unique and Diverse Clinical Experience
Our externship provides a unique dual setting, giving you exposure to the complete patient journey from diagnosis to long-term rehabilitation. This structure ensures you will develop a well-rounded and robust clinical skill set.
Your experience will include:
Diagnostic Excellence in an ENT Setting
Hone your audiological testing skills in a fast-paced medical environment. You will perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for a diverse adult population, collaborating closely with ENT physicians to contribute to accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
Aural Rehabilitation in a Private Practice
Develop your expertise in patient-centered rehabilitation at our audiology clinic. You will gain extensive hands-on experience in hearing aid selection, fitting, and verification using best practices, as well as tinnitus management, patient counseling, and building lasting patient relationships.
Who We Are Looking For: The Whole Person
We are seeking motivated, empathetic, and curious Au.D. candidates who are passionate about providing outstanding patient care.
While a strong academic and clinical foundation is essential, we believe the best clinicians are well-rounded individuals who connect with patients on a human level. That’s why our application process is different. In addition to your formal qualifications, we ask for a "snapshot" of who you are outside the classroom and clinic. Hearing about your hobbies, work history, travels, or participation in sports or clubs helps us get to know the entire person. We want to see what fires you up-we find it’s what makes the most passionate and effective audiologists.

A Cover Letter detailing your interest in our specific program and clinical settings.
Your current Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Three (3) Letters of Recommendation.
A "Personal Snapshot": A brief resume or narrative describing your interests, accomplishments, and passions outside of audiology.
