Robert Weissman, Au.D., B.C.A., CCC-A (aka dr. hear) is an award-winning audiologist practicing in the Los Angeles area for over 20 years. His professional passion is helping people and families connect or re-connect by maximizing their ability to communicate with each other.

    Anthony Tsao, Au.D.

    Anthony Tsao, Au.D. CCC-A

    Dr. Tsao is Board Certified in Audiology and professionally credentialed, holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Northwestern University, and he completed his Doctorate degree in Audiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Tsao has trained at a variety of healthcare facilities, and he has experience working at the VA, non-for-profit organizations, ENT physician offices, and other outpatient audiology clinics.

    His specific interests include diagnostic audiological testing, hearing loss prevention, hearing aid fitting and verification, tinnitus management, and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Tsao believes the best part of being an audiologist is being able to use technology to help people communicate in their everyday lives. Dr. Tsao moved to California from the Midwest in 2016. He still can’t believe how pleasant the weather is along with the fact that one can easily see mountains in the background. At home, Anthony enjoys cooking with his family, reading, and playing tennis.

    Edward Garcia, AuD

    Edward Garcia, AuD, is a diagnostic audiologist and an audiology professor in the Speech-Language Pathology department at Long Beach State University since 2001. His area of specialty is diagnostic audiology, providing services to linguistically diverse geriatric clients. His current interests include investigating the link between untreated hearing loss and Alzheimer’s and related dementias, hearing loss related social isolation, and how health disparities in the Latinx populations affect the prognosis in sudden idiopathic sensorineural hearing loss. He is a bilingual, California licensed audiologist and has been in private practice for over 20 years with an Au.D. from University of Florida, Gainesville.

    Janet Taylor, Hearing Instrument Specialist

    Janet has been helping people hear better since 1998.

    In those past 20+ years, she’s gained invaluable experience as a hearing clinic manager, regional manager, and trainer of hearing professionals.

    Known for her expertise in the fitting, dispensing, and programming of advanced hearing technology, Janet was drawn to the hearing industry because of her deep dedication to changing people’s lives.

    Janet believes her practice as a hearing aid dispenser is as much an art as it is a science.

    By utilizing cutting-edge hearing technology with quality personal attention, she can ensure her patients receive the hearing healthcare they deserve. Patient care and satisfaction are her top priorities.

    Sondra Samples, M.S., CCC-A

    Sondra is a licensed audiologist, in the State of California, and she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence, from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. Sondra has more than thirty years, of experience, testing people, of all ages, in hospitals and outpatient settings. She is equally skilled, in testing newborns, as she is, in testing geriatric patients. She is also adept, at working, with individuals, requiring special needs and with patients, who speak English, as their second language. Sondra received her Bachelor’s Degree, in Communicative Disorders, from California State University, Northridge, and her Master’s Degree in Audiology, from Idaho State University. Sondra has been performing audiologic testing, for drhear and our associates, since 1987.

    Sondra is married, she has two sons, and she lives in Eagle Rock. She volunteers for the Glendale YMCA, in the position, of Camp Director, on Catalina Island. She also teaches Sunday School, and she works with autistic children. In her free time, Sondra enjoys playing the piano and the guitar, reading, sailing, and camping.

    Tram Anh Nguyen, B.S.

    Tram Anh Nguyen is our audiology extern for 2019-2020. By August 2020, Tram will obtain her Doctor of Audiology degree from Pacific University. Prior to graduate school, Tram earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in General Science and Speech & Hearing Sciences from Portland State University in 2017.

    Tram has completed multiple internships in different fields of Audiology, including Veteran Affairs, Non-profit Health Organizations, and private ENT practices. She is well trained in various areas such as comprehensive audiological testing, hearing aid fitting, real ear measure verification, auditory brain stem response (ABR) testing, vestibular testing, and aural rehabilitation. She is passionate about helping the geriatric population through the field of audiology. She feels strongly that through hearing, one can significantly improve their overall social, emotional, and physical health. She enjoys counseling patients on their specific needs and personalizes counseling tools on what they want throughout their journey of hearing better.

    Tram Anh Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese. She was born in Vietnam and moved to Oregon when she was nine-years-old. She grew up in a big family with three older siblings. During her free time, she likes to cook and go to the gym. She also enjoys traveling around the world as she is a foodie at heart and is always up for food adventures. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has been loving the sunny weather and the diversity of culture.
